Mining Slurry Pumps

Cyclone Pump Range

Mining Slurry Pumps

Engineered for the most demanding mining environments, our heavy-duty centrifugal slurry pumps provide reliable, continuous performance. They are specifically designed to handle highly abrasive and dense slurries – ranging from hydrocyclone feed and grinding circuits to flotation and final tailings disposal.

High-Chrome White Iron Minimal Shaft Overhang Up to 8,600 m³/hr

Erosion & Corrosion Resistance: Built for maximum durability in erosive and corrosive conditions through high-chrome white iron impellers and thoughtful material selection. These high-pressure pumps feature a robust design with minimal shaft and impeller overhang, which significantly reduces shaft deflection and bearing load, thereby extending the service life of the pump and its packing seals.

Product Overview

Mining slurry pumps represent the industrial pinnacle of abrasive slurry handling technology. Engineered specifically for continuous operation in grinding circuits, cyclone feeds, flotation cells, and tailings systems, these pumps combine exceptional wear resistance with powerful hydraulic performance.

The robust design – featuring minimal shaft overhang and generous bearing support — dramatically reduces the mechanical stresses that cause premature failure in conventional centrifugal pumps. This engineering approach extends bearing life, reduces downtime, and delivers the lowest cost-per-tonne of ore processed.

Design Philosophy & Durability

Minimal Shaft Overhang

The shaft and impeller are positioned as close to the bearing support as possible, minimising deflection and radial stress. This conservative design approach dramatically extends bearing life and reduces vibration-induced wear.

Robust Bearing Support

Generously dimensioned, pre-loaded bearings absorb the extreme radial and thrust loads generated by dense, abrasive slurries without deflection.

High-Pressure Capability

These pumps are engineered to handle system pressures that would overwhelm conventional designs. Relief valves and system design ensure safe, sustained operation under extreme conditions.

Materials of Construction

Pump Casings

Ductile iron provides the ideal balance of strength, machinability, and cost-effectiveness. The material withstands extreme internal pressures and maintains structural integrity under impact loads.

Impellers

High-chrome white iron is the standard for all impeller construction. This material provides exceptional hardness and wear resistance, maintaining sharp edges and tight clearances throughout the pump’s operational lifespan.

Liners & Throatbush

Replaceable components manufactured from high-chrome white iron or elastomer options. Elastomer liners are selected for lower-density slurries where impact resistance is critical; chrome iron is used for extreme-hardness applications.
