Vertical Multistage Pumps (VMS)

Vertical multistage centrifugal pumps are engineered for high-pressure, space-saving fluid transfer. By stacking multiple impellers in series along a single vertical shaft within a unified housing, each sequential stage incrementally boosts fluid pressure by an equal amount. Driven by a top-mounted electric motor, this inline design minimises the equipment footprint whilst delivering maximum hydraulic head.

Space-Saving Design High-Pressure Capability Up to 300 m Head

Inline Vertical Architecture: These premium pumps are optimised for handling clean, low-viscosity, non-volatile, and non-explosive liquids that do not contain suspended solids or abrasive fibres. The vertical configuration reduces installation space whilst maximising pressure capability.

Product Overview

Vertical multistage pumps represent a fundamental architecture choice for applications where space is constrained yet pressure requirements are demanding. By aligning multiple impeller stages vertically along a single shaft within a compact housing, these systems deliver exceptional hydraulic head in a minimal footprint.

Driven by a top-mounted electric motor, the vertical design is ideal for deep-well pumping, pressure-boosting applications, and applications in confined spaces. Each stage adds its own incremental pressure rise, allowing the system to achieve extreme heads from a remarkably compact installation envelope.

These systems are engineered specifically for clean, low-viscosity fluids. They excel in municipal water supply, high-rise building pressurisation, and closed-loop thermal systems where reliability and compact design are equally critical.

Operational Principle & Design

Multistage Pressure Addition

Multiple impellers are mounted in series along a single vertical shaft. Each stage adds incremental pressure rise. For example, a 10-stage pump at 1450 RPM might add approximately 30 metres of head per stage, resulting in 300 metres total at design point.

Compact Installation Footprint

The inline vertical architecture minimises horizontal space requirements. The entire pressure-generating system fits within a single, unified housing mounted vertically above the suction point.

Top-Mounted Motor Drive

The electric motor is mounted at the top of the unit, simplifying installation, maintenance access, and thermal management. Standard asynchronous motors with Class F insulation and IP55 protection are the norm.
