Horizontal Multistage Centrifugal Pumps

Cyclone Pump Range

Horizontal Multistage Centrifugal Pumps

Robust multistage centrifugal pumps utilising two or more dynamically balanced impellers mounted in series on a single, continuous shaft. This proven architecture generates high pressures incrementally at a fraction of the cost of multiple single-stage pump systems. Each operational stage consists of an independent impeller and ring section casing, delivering exceptional hydraulic head whilst maintaining peak efficiency and reliability.

Between-Bearing Design Hydraulic Load Balancing Up to 1,110 m Head

Advanced Hydraulic Balancing: To eliminate intense axial thrust, stages can be arranged back-to-back in opposing pairs or groups. For alternative configurations, axial loads are continuously managed via an integrated hydraulic balance disc mechanism, ensuring extended bearing life and minimal vibration.

Product Overview

Horizontal multistage centrifugal pumps represent the industrial choice for applications demanding extreme hydraulic head combined with substantial flow capability. By stacking multiple impeller stages in series on a single shaft, these systems deliver cumulative pressure rises without the complexity, cost, or footprint penalties of operating multiple single-stage pumps in series.

The architecture emphasises mechanical rigidity and hydraulic stability. The between-bearing design supports the shaft on both sides, eliminating overhanging forces and providing natural hydraulic balance. All impellers are fitted with replaceable wear rings, ensuring optimum internal clearances are preserved throughout the pump’s operational lifespan.

Design Architecture & Mechanical Engineering

Multistage Series Configuration

Two or more dynamically balanced impellers mounted in series on a single, continuous shaft. Each stage adds independent pressure rise, resulting in cumulative head delivery.

Between-Bearing Design

A rigid, between-bearing architecture supports the shaft on either end, entirely eliminating overhanging forces. This design naturally resists deflection and provides inherent hydraulic balance.

Hydraulic Load Management

To eliminate intense axial thrust loads, stages can be arranged back-to-back in opposing pairs. Alternative configurations utilise an integrated hydraulic balance disc mechanism for continuous load management.

Radial Load Support

The pump shaft is supported by robust bush bearings embedded within each casing section, ensuring the assembly easily withstands maximum radial thrust. Grease-lubricated grooved ball bearings are housed within external brackets on each side to absorb residual forces.

Replaceable Wear Rings

All impellers are fitted with easily replaceable wear rings as standard. This preserves internal clearances and maintains peak hydraulic efficiency throughout extended operational lifespans.

Shaft Wear Sleeves

The shaft is equipped with replaceable wear sleeves as a standard manufacturing feature, protecting the shaft from internal corrosion and erosion.
